Reluctant sale of my 90s iconic Mercedes-Benz, and an increasingly appreciated modern classic.

This beautiful R129 SL320, finished in the rather desirable black over black leather combination and accompanied by an extensive service history, impressive specification and some serious recent mechanical investment.

Having covered 119,000 miles, this example presents in great condition and has benefited from circa £6,000 of expenditure in the recent year.

Two sets of wheels

The car comes with two sets of alloy wheels:

• Desirable 18-inch AMG split-rim monoblocks, fitted with almost like new Michelin Pilot Sport 5 tyres.
• Original 17-inch Mercedes-Benz alloy wheels, complete with very good Toyo Proxes tyres.

One of the particularly appealing aspects of this SL320 is its substantial documented maintenance history.

The service book contains numerous recorded service entries from approximately 9,000 miles onwards, with services recorded at:

• Regular oil, filter, spark plug and fluid changes.
• Water pump, crank pulley and belt renewal.
• Air-conditioning condenser replacement.
• Front suspension and steering component repairs.
• Front and rear brake hoses and brake fluid replacement.
• Passenger and driver’s electric window motor and regulator replacements.

Condition

The car is in great condition for its age and has clearly benefited from ongoing care and investment.

The soft top remains in good condition for its age and does not leak. There is, however, a small repair patch to the rear PVC window, which we prefer to mention for complete transparency.
