The inaugural Luftgekühlt GB at Bicester Heritage was a real treat for the Porsche fans. However, after nearly two months of a heatwave, the Californians were greeted with one of the wettest days of the year. The torrential rain made it truly British.
Luftgekühlt (German: air-cooled)
The visitors were treated to the sight of every possible era of an air-cooled Porsche model carefully displayed in the ‘most photogenic’ areas of the Bicester Heritage site. From the early 356s all the way to 1990s 993s. Most notable cars were the 550 Spyder RS with its famous yellow wing, the beautiful 1964 Irish-green Porsche 904 Carrera GTS or the bright orange Porsche 934 Jägermeister. Other cars worth mentioning were the Singer DLS development car the ‘MULE’ and the most stylish car of the event Paul Smiths designed multi-coloured Porsche 911.
Our favourite was the 934 Jägermeister.
