The Silverstone Classic is an annual three-day car and race event at the UK’s Silverstone circuit, home of the British Grand Prix. Normally spread over a long weekend in July, the event features a large number of classic and historic cars and races. It is billed as ‘The World’s Biggest Classic Motor Racing Festival’.
Founded in 1990, the Silverstone Classic was one of the first motorsport events dedicated entirely to classic and historic cars. In recent years, the Silverstone Classic was voted as one of the World’s best historic motorsport events by Octane magazine followed by winning the prestigious ‘Motorsport Event of the Year Award’ in 2013 at the third International Historic Motoring Awards (IHMA). The Silverstone Classics celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2015 with a special Silver Jubilee event which included a parade of silver cars to mark the milestone occasion.
Below is my short coverage from the last day at the 2015 event (Sunday). It was a very, very wet day and i got soaked. Arrived late, missed a lot but still managed to see and photograph some great classic automobiles. Tried to get the details of every car photographed so hope you’ll enjoy it.
Enjoy and if you’d like to visit this years event go here to but tickets.
