Combination of beautiful cars, sunny weather and a truly amazing group of people made our day rather enjoyable. Cars within our main display came from private individuals, collectors and classic car businesses but most of all from true car passionates.
It’s not often that a boutique size classic car event will bring such a variety of cars. We made sure that we have carefully curated our lawn display and we hosted anything from a beautiful red ex Jochen Rindt Alfa Romeo Autodelta GTA Corsa contrasting with a yellow original Alfa 1600 Junior, a hot-rod VW Beetle, a BMW 1602L showing its patina, a series of pristine condition Porsches (both original as well as customised), Renault 5 Turbo, a selection of rare Mercedes-Benz cars, a couple of British legends like Mini Cooper or Range Rover all the way to the extremely rare 1 0f 47 Bentley Continental S3 drop-head or one-off Dodge Charger custom built by the Ring Brothers in California and many more.
We are not at all trying to create yet another ‘Concourse of Elegance’ but we thought it would be a good idea to run a little ‘Best of Show’ competition which was judged by the visitors rather than a specific panel of judges. We ran a short survey and the results were as follows:
- Winner – ‘Alfaholics‘ with their red ex Jochen Rindt Alfa Romeo Autodelta GTA Corsa
- 2nd place – Erlend of ‘Silent D Motorshow‘ with the Ring Brothers Dodge Charger
- 3rd place – Ollie of ‘Silver Arrows Automobiles‘ with cooper Mercedes Pagoda
All in all, we had a fabulous time and we look forward to having you all at our next meeting, rally or event.
Our future events will continue as a ’boutique style’ series of events and in 2019 we will bring you more ‘meetings’ as well as ‘rallies’ and at least one main Drive Classics Club event. Stay tuned!
Special thanks to Richard and his team at the St Michaels Manor Hotel for being a perfect host.
